So how did we get here?

We are a small team of senior engineers, supported by an incredible online volunteer team.

We learned our trade at major tech companies. We still build software for Fortune 500 companies today. We love solving complex enterprise problems, and we are proud of it. But the work that truly changes lives happens on a different frontline.

It happens at food banks and shelters and at thousands of dedicated nonprofits across the nation. The people running them are doing the most selfless, essential work in our communities.

They shouldn’t have to fight broken technology to do it. That’s why we built TSNI Nonprofit Web Intelligence to map out exactly what’s failing across 700,000 domains, so we can step in and engineer the tools they actually deserve.

What We Actually Have

Three Things Nobody Else Has

We don’t just talk about nonprofit tech. We measure it.

1. The Crawler. Our custom-built web crawler visits 700,000 nonprofit websites, every single day. Each visit collects hundreds of technology signals, from the CMS and hosting provider to the donor platform, the fundraising tools, the SSL certificate, and the security configuration. It identifies itself as TSNI-Scanner/1.0, it respects your robots.txt, and any organization can opt out with a single email.

2. The History. Every run adds another layer. One scan shows what is broken today. Years of scans show what is rising, what is stalling, and what got quietly abandoned. That history cannot be back-filled. You either started measuring or you didn’t. We did, and that is why we can show you the trend, not just the snapshot.

3. The Index. There was no single measure of nonprofit digital health. So we built one. It combines real traffic data, domain trust, and security posture into a single score. This is not a ranking of which nonprofits do better work. It is not a leaderboard. Nonprofit missions cannot be ranked from best to worst. The score tells you whether the technology supporting your mission is healthy, and where it needs attention.

Why we’re different

Warning: If you like how traditional tech vendors treat the nonprofit sector, you might not like us.

We are the fiercely independent rebels of nonprofit tech. We’re building the software solutions we always wanted to use, and compiling the dataset we always wanted to access. We are refusing to play the industry game of overcharging nonprofits for mediocre software.

Because we are doing all this without a financial exit in mind, we can focus entirely on the problem instead of the profit margin.

We don’t aim for “good enough for a nonprofit.” Whether we are mapping the sector with our web intelligence platform, or building the free tools that fix the problems we find, our standard is the same: fundamentally better, entirely free, and ruthlessly easy to use.

Our playbook only has one rule: we build the technology we’d want to use ourselves, and hand it directly to the nonprofits on the frontlines.

What About the Financials?

Like most early-stage startups obsessed with the product, the financials are the last thing on our minds. Right now, we cover all of our own cloud service costs, compute power, AI tokens, and hardware out of pocket.

We work multiple day jobs to subsidize this. Honestly, we feel incredibly good about doing it. We believe the nonprofit sector is doing the most important work in the world, and we are happy to build the infrastructure to support it.

But obviously, bootstrapping infrastructure at this scale isn’t sustainable forever.
